CARNYX (PERFORMANCE) is an audio interpretation of the enigma surrounding the Celtic Mormont site, dating back to the 2nd and 1st centuries BC.
More than 250 pits containing Celtic remains have been unearthed on site, but still, the mystery persists as archaeologists grapple with deciphering what led the Celts to create this significant testament, burying human and animal bodies alongside artifacts within them.

The performance offers a live 7.1 surround audio experience, featuring the CARNYX's rock installation alongside an ancient carnyx instrument. This project is a collaborative effort with artist Alizée Quinche and musician-blacksmith Samuel Meric.
Accompanied by the carnyx, the composition's sounds are triggered live on the rock through a custom-built C++ program, leveraging the FMOD sound library. This setup allows for enveloping the audience through the encircling 7.1 surround sound system.
Drawing inspiration from digital audio workstation workflows, a specific hierarchical architecture was devised in the program, comprising a logical sequence of mixer, scenes, noteracks, and sounds. This approach facilitates seamless manipulation and integration of audio elements, streamlining the programming process of the CARNYX installation.
The unique workflow of the program, specifically developed for live performances, enables complex sound interactions, comprehensive control over sound parameters, live 7.1 output, and randomization operations.
